  Early signs of anorexia are manifested through distorted self-image like feeling fat even though others don’t perceive you fat. Another sign is preoccupation with the extreme fear of gaining weight. Anorexic people also lie about their eating patterns and how much they have consumed. They also tend to exercise compulsively and abuse laxatives. Sudden weight loss is almost definitive that someone is suffering from anorexia.

  Anorexia is a condition that is prevalent nowadays particularly on young women. Studies show that teenage girls are more prone to have anorexia nervosa. One of the main reasons is that girls at this age are already starting to build their identity. Being a teenager is tough for most girls because this is the time when insecurities are at its peak. They wanted so much to please others with the way they look that they tend to over analyze themselves. They will start feeling ugly, fat and unwanted. From that wrong self-image, they will begin to do something, and losing weight the wrong way is primarily their solution. That perception of being fat will continue to linger on their minds making it even worse if no proper action will be done. Before they even knew it, they are already suffering from anorexia.
