Most of the time, a person who undergoes acupuncture does not experience any adverse side effects. Acupuncture is a very relaxing and soothing alternative therapy. The only discomfort for the first timer, perhaps, is the first needle insertion. After that, the pain is no longer noticeable. Bruising, bleeding, and other injury to the skin tissues as side effects of acupuncture are unusual. If ever such injury occurs, the blame would be on the negligence or improper procedure done by the acupuncturist and not on acupuncture itself. Normally, acupuncture has no side effects at all. If you want to get the best out of it, go to certified acupuncturists only.
