Have you ever imagined how wonderful it would feel to wake up one fine morning to find that your own fat could become a slimming aid for you? Well, if you are still having an unbelieving smirk across your face, then here is the latest news. Scientists have conducted an experiment on mice in Germany. This research proves that an inflammatory enzyme COX-2 has the capability of producing brown fat in the bodies of mice. This brown fat is different from the regular white fat in our bodies and can qualify as an excellent slimming aid.
This brown fat behaves in a totally opposite way when compared to the regular white fat which constitutes the bulk of the flab in our bodies. While the white fat is stored as a source of energy in the waits, lower abdomen, buttocks and other parts of the body, the brown fat converts the energy in to heat.
The burning question searing through your mind at this point is how I could get this inflammatory enzyme COX-2 to produce lots of brown fat in my body. That is precisely what the scientists are working on. Brown fat is found in human beings too, but only in very minute quantities, which is inadequate for use as a slimming aid.
But the good news is that the scientists have recognized the immense value of this naturally produced slimming aid, and are trying to create a commercial preparation which contains enough quantity of the COX-2 enzyme.
This preparation has to be safe to be consumed and they have to work out the proportions and safe limits for human use, before all of us can gleefully commence to develop our own brown fat slimming aid.
Further investigations in mice revealed that the brown fat is produced within the white fat cells itself, when the external temperatures turned very cold. This effect was brought about by the action of Prostaglandins, which are the pain and inflammation stimulating hormones of the body.
The prostaglandin synthesis is controlled by COX-2. Studies are being conducted to generate brown fat in humans without exposure to cold, and helped only by the prostaglandins and COX-2 effect. Merely 50 grams of brown fat if implanted in the human body can prove to be sufficient to bring about a huge weight loss of 20 kilos over a period of 1 year. Who knows maybe soon scientists may even develop the slimming aid in the lab and then implant it within the human body to help weight loss?
