Healthy Diet Plan for the Heart

Heart disease is one of the most common diseases in the United States. Healthcare professional such as doctor usually recommends exercise and a healthy diet plan to prevent any heart ailments. Healthy diet plan usually includes consuming balanced diet with fresh fruits and vegetables, more fiber, less sugar and calorie. The following type of foods can also make your cardiovascular system much healthier:  

Fish such as salmon is a type of food that is a good source of omega 3 fatty acid which can protect heart by decreasing the risk of clots in the blood and inflammation. A healthy diet plan includes essential fats that come from fish to maintain your cholesterol level. A healthy diet plan usually includes grilled salmon plus green vegetables. Eating fish such as salmon, sardines, tuna and herring is recommended for at least 2 weeks.

Olive oil is usually included in a healthy diet plan. It can lower LDL levels that can reduce the risk for heart illness. Another food that has the ability to reduce LDL levels is oats. Olive oil can be used for cooking while oats can be easily consumed with cereals, brown sugar, walnuts, and strawberry.

In a healthy diet plan, it is very common to see fresh food and vegetables included in the diet. One of the components of green vegetables is folate which can help keep the level of homocysteine and vitamin E. On the other hand, fruits such as apple contains phytochemical compound called quercetin which can help prevent blood clots and act as anti inflammatory .

A healthy diet plan usually includes almonds and essential nuts which contain Vitamin E and healthy oils that can help maintain the cholesterol level. Almonds can also be a good source of fiber and protein. It can be eaten on its own, or mixed with favorite fruits and vegetables such as asparagus and green beans.

A diet plan that is healthy for the heart can also includes red wine which has antioxidant called resveratrol. Previous studies have shown that the resveratrol has the ability to make the heart healthier. However, drinking red wine must be only in moderation. It is recommended to consume only 4 to 8 ounces of red wine a day.

Health is our priced possession. Fortunately, there are some ways that you can do to help keep your body, mind and heart healthy. A healthy diet plan and regular exercise are considered as the simplest way you can do for your heart to make it healthy.
