Is The High Protein Diet Risky For You?

If you have been trying to trim the weight for some time, you might not do it as you should. What we mean by this is that one of the things that many don’t realize is that the latest trend of diets is the protein diet. Let’s look at how this works. You have probably heard many different things. Some might tell you that a high protein diet is the best way to go. They tell you that you should have mainly proteins so the calories that you have throughout the day should be close to fifty percent. However, while some have said that they have had luck with this sort of diet, there are some people who disagree with this.

There are three different associations that do not agree with this theory. The American Heart Association doesn’t agree with this. Then, there is the National Cholesterol Education Program that says this isn’t a great way to diet. The last one to argue that this doesn’t work is the American Cancer Society. There are a number of reasons that people tell those who try this protein diet that this isn’t the way to go. There are a number of things that have been linked to having too much protein. Many of these are terminal illnesses such as different forms of cancer.

There are other complications that you can expect when you use a protein diet for a number of things that can cause you some health issues. By the association listed above, one of the things associated with the protein diet is high cholesterol. Another thing that you can find that is found with people who have used the high protein diet is problems with the kidney including kidney stones. This can eventually lead to kidney failure.

One of the biggest known high protein diet that used to be quite popular isn’t as popular anymore. This was the Atkins diet. This might be the reason as to why it’s not as popular, one might never know. However, we do know that with the protein diet, you might lose weight, but you can send your body into a state of shock for the fact that it’s burning glucose and not fat.

With a high protein diet you can eat more foods. This means you can eat more poultry and other foods as well. However, what used to be a fad known as the protein diet is no longer the case. Word is getting out about it and the protein diet is almost extinct due to medical findings that have been found.
