  Strict adherence to Feingold diet is very important in managing ADHD. The foods that you are allowed to eat when you are on a Feingold diet are vegetables like cabbage, carrots, lettuce, cantaloupe, spinach, sweet potatoes, squash, sweet corn, beans, cauliflower, and lentils; fruits like mango, papaya, grapefruit, pineapple, pears and watermelon; rice; and some kinds of mushrooms.

  The Feingold diet is a special dietetic program that is based on elimination of some foods and a number of artificial flavors, artificial colors, petroleum based preservatives, aspartame and drugs such as salicylates. The Feingold diet was first described by Ben F. Feingold as a treatment option for attention deficit hyperactivity disorders (ADHD). There has been a great deal of debate concerning the efficacy of the Feingold diet since it was first described more than 30 years ago.

  This is a diet program that was introduced by Benjamin Feingold, M.D. This program is prepared for hyperactive (ADHD) patients. Artificial food additives; aspartame; preservatives that are petroleum based; and some form of salicylates are removed from a person’ diet. This diet program is mostly administered to kids and is known to be very effective in controlling hyperactiveness in ADHD patients.
