Healthy hearts come with a great price tag, the price of discarding all those heaps of high carb, high fat foods. High cholesterol foods pose a direct threat to our well being and one can never be too sure when and where will a heart related symptom strike. Low cholesterol diets are the answer to cutting down on high cholesterol foods which can ultimately lead to bad hearts. Low cholesterol diets are also standard prescription if you happen to be a heart patient.

Whether one is in need of a diet or simply not, high cholesterol foods are threats to any and all. For those with a family history of heart disease, such foods can make them only more susceptible. So what and how much of cholesterol is good for us? Cholesterol is essential for life as it is responsible for daily human body membrane functions. Scientists have evaluated that cholesterol in the body can be summated in generally three categories, HDL, LDL and VLDL. Of these the good cholesterol levels designated as HDL are important for the body whereas the bad cholesterol, LDL needs to remain below 100 mg/dL. LDL is the cholesterol which causes the fatty acid deposits in our arteries and membranes restricting blood flow and ultimately causing heart disease.

Low cholesterol diets consist of foods which contribute little or nothing towards increasing LDLs. Foods such as trans-fat oils, saturated fats and oils, sugared foods and foods with high salt or sodium content are termed as high cholesterol foods. Also, meats such as red meats, lard, animal fats, milk fats and products are known to be high in cholesterol. Though the obvious satiety value of these foods cannot be denied, in the long run their continued unrestricted consumption will cause health problems.

So what are the foods which can fight fat and lower cholesterol or rather what are low cholesterol foods? Staring at the obvious is a typical human trait; hence the first choice is right there in front of us. Try moderation of your food intake. If you need to eat that beef every day, just try replacing it with turkey. High intakes of fruits and vegetables is the ideal diet and supplemented with right nutrients in the form of whole wheat grains, nuts, and proteins from lean meats and fish may make the right diet. Hence, choose the right low cholesterol diet which is right for your body type and pave the way for a healthy heart.
