Food habits and dieting

How do you tell the difference between a good food and a bad food? The answer is, there are no bad foods! I firmly believe in everything in moderation. Once chocolate biscuit is not going to do you any harm at all, or make you fat; it’s the rest of the packet that do the damage! If you can eat one and be satisfied, good for you! You are one of the few, most mere mortals however, cannot resist the temptation and just have to delve deeper into the packet.

There are of course, foods that are healthy and foods that are unhealthy, and if you educate your stomach and palate and get used to the lower fat, lower sugar foods, even chocolate begins to lose its appeal – I promise! Speaking as someone who used to devour two or three bars of chocolate per day at least, I always considered myself lucky I didn’t gain too much weight, that is till I got to age 30 when everything started to change. All my bad habits started to catch up with me, and suddenly for the first time I had to start watching what I ate, and as a result chocolate was the first thing to go. It took about 4 weeks to stop craving the chocolate “fix” but now I don’t miss it at all. I have occasionally had some, but now it’s lost its appeal I don’t enjoy it and if I do have some, one is always enough. As for other so called bad foods such as fast foods like burgers and chips, Chinese take-ways etc. if you only have them once in a while, you won’t suddenly put inches on your thighs after just one meal. If you develop a taste for them and have them regularly however, then you will put inches on at a steady rate.
